Panjpeer Rocks is an incredible rock structure spreading over a wide region. The rocks are in the Kahuta District, Punjab. The site is known as PanjPeer since the people think that five saints came into the region to reside here, even their footsteps are on some stones here.
In the region, there is also a shrine. The rock formation is roughly 1800 meters above sea level, and also gets some snow in winter. It is the highest place in Kotli Sattian. The River Jhelum may be seen from the ridge as well.
People are lovely and extremely welcoming; however, this is a remote place so it’s best to be careful. If you have a large group you may camp at this place. Panjpeer rocks beauty is noteworthy.
This is a wonderful and less explored tourist destination full of mountains, rocks, pine trees, valleys, and springs. Two small hotels near Panjpeer are good for staying.
It is located near Tehsil Kahuta, Rawalpindi District in a little village of “Narar” The village is located around 60 km from the capital Islamabad. From Islamabad or Rawalpindi, it takes around 2.5 hours to reach Narar and some 50 minutes hike to the exact place.
The top ridge may take up to 3 hours hike. DFO (Divisional Forest Office) has its rest house for those who want to stay the night, camping is also an option for those who want to enjoy the night sky here.
It is a fascinating journey that takes a 12km track from the village of Narar to the top of the rock formations runs through beautiful waterfalls, dense forests, roaring rivers, and majestic peaks. The top ridge also has the footsteps of saints and it is worth watching and spiritual journey.
